Intrusive thoughts are involuntary, unwanted thoughts, images, or impulses that can be really distressing. They often involve themes that are violent, sexual, or socially inappropriate, and are typically at odds with a person's values and beliefs . While nearly everyone experiences intrusive thoughts occasionally, they become problematic when they are persistent and cause significant distress or interfere with daily functioning . This workshop offers a comprehensive exploration of intrusive thoughts, their underlying mechanisms, and evidence-based therapeutic strategies to manage them effectively.
