Emotional Regulation

Event details

Entry to this group is via Practitioner referral only.

This is a 4 week course and attendance at each session is required.

Do you experience quite rapid shifts in the way you feel, sometimes with no obvious trigger?

Do you tend to feel your emotions very intensely?

Do your feelings sometimes seem outside of your control?

Can you sometimes find it difficult to understand or name the way you feel?

This course aims to support participants to develop their knowledge and skills to help regulate their emotions. Drawing on resources from the field of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), this course aims to help participants understand what emotions are for, how to change our emotional responses if they do not fit the facts and learn to reduce our vulnerability to intense emotional shifts.

It is recommended that you have engaged with at least one mindfulness session prior to starting this course as mindfulness practice is a key component.

After completion of this group, you will have the option of attending our peer-led Support MOG ( Moving on Group) that meets during term-term, here at the service.
