Starting on the Right Foot: Coping with Uni Life
Event details
One-off workshop
Is university life not quite what you were expecting?
Perhaps youre experiencing homesickness, finding it difficult to make friends, or generally struggling to settle in?
If you can relate to any of the above, this workshop is for you!
Starting at university can be both an exciting and daunting experience. For many, it is the first time away from home and family, which can leave you feeling home sick and isolated.
Being thrown into an unfamiliar environment with lots of other students and trying to make new friends can leave you feeling overwhelmed and anxious.
Its natural to feel nervous, especially while youre trying to find your feet, so this workshop will provide a safe space to come together with other students and share your experiences.
- We will explore options for self-care and ideas that can help you to make the most of this new experience.
- There will be a range of activities to help you reflect on your university experience, discuss your expectations and bust some of the myths that may be worrying you.
- We will help you understand the process of change that you are going through and support you to find ways of managing this in the future.
By the end of the workshop, you will have developed your own toolkit of self-help strategies to support you in building resilience and looking after your wellbeing.
We will also introduce you to the support that the Counselling and Mental Health Service can offer you.
