Getting Started: Depression/Managing Low Mood Wednesday Group 1

Event details

Counsellor referral only

Two linked workshops for students. This supportive workshop can help you to get started with a plan for managing depression. Your depression plan will be unique to you as what helps varies from one person to another.

We will look at manageable changes that you can make: it can be very encouraging to realise how many steps you can take, easing the symptoms of depression.

You will find out what resources you could have access to that might help you learn ways of preventing mood problems from becoming unmanageable.

You will also have an introduction to two key approaches that help:

Recognising how established patterns maintain depression, our familiar way of understanding and acting can make things worse.Learning how to manage thoughts: identifying negative and self-defeating thought patterns: learning to think in a more balanced and realistic manner.

In the first instance, access to the Getting Started: Depression workshop will be via referral through your counsellor. If you are interested in hearing more about this workshop, or would like to consider joining, please speak to your counsellor or contact us.
